Yes, the infant phase is supposedly a little different (and more difficult). Many cultures that use this method don't actually start in earnest until after the baby is a month or two old.

We'll probably start out with disposables for the first week or so, but they say going diaperless is easier the earlier you start.

And quite honestly, I don't think I would try diaperless either if I were in the States. It's definitely easier here. First of all, the heat is more of a motivation. And secondly we don't have carpet here, so potential messes are much less of an issue!

I read an article in one of my parenting magazines a year ago about doing what you are going to try.

I guess what I couldn't get past was what about the infant phase? Being so tired with a newborn, and midnight feedings most nights were a blur.

I'm very interested but have to admit that I don't think I would even try it.
